ART GALLERY PARKHOTEL DE WIEMSEL
In a historic country house on the edge of our hotel park, we offer our guests free access to our small, exclusive collection of contemporary art from all over the world. It is a selection from the hotel owner's art collection, which he has collected in over 50 years on business trips around the world and now presents to the public in his home town in Lüneburg as www.kunstsammlung-henningjclaassen.de in his own art museum.
THE COLLECTION
In addition to paintings, the collection offers an interesting spectrum of graphics and sculptures by well-known international artists such as Christo, Feng, Giacometti, Jinks, Ramos, Szczesny, Vasarely, Warhol and many more.
THE COLLECTOR
Henning J. Claassen (HJC) was born in 1944 in Lüneburg/D, the son of a family of bakers who have been living here for four generations. He completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and then studied Economics and Psychology in Los Angeles/USA. After returning from the USA, he set up his own business at the age of 27 and founded a number of successful companies over the years.
HJC became interested in contemporary art very early on, which he has acquired over the past 50 years on his business trips around the world and formed into an extraordinary collection.

You are also welcome to use the gallery for festive occasions or a dinner in an extraordinary setting with family or friends.
